Liverpool’s annual parlour show of magic and mysticism.
The Tradition
Every autumn The Oracle’s magicians close the bar for a run of nights and stage something stranger than a magic show. In the Victorian parlour tradition, a small audience sits close enough to see every card and every candle, and the evening unfolds as a story: a séance, a mystery, a medicine show, an asylum, with the impossible threaded through it.
It is intimate by design. Around thirty guests a night, the drinks still handcrafted, the performers still the same magicians who work our tables the rest of the year. If you want a Halloween night out in Liverpool that isn’t fancy dress and a DJ, this is the one people whisper about.
The Oracle, 83 Seel Street, Liverpool L1 4BB. The speakeasy magicians’ bar behind the unmarked door.
A limited run of October nights each year. This year’s dates are listed above as soon as they’re announced.
Ticketed and seated, so booking ahead is essential. Most nights sell out. Premium front-row seats are offered on some shows.
Outside show nights, The Oracle is open as usual, Thursday to Sunday, for close-up magic at your table and Victorian cocktails. No reservations, just walk in.
